Students transfer to Cedar Crest for a variety of reasons.
-
They have just completed an Associate’s Degree at a two-year college and want to continue their education toward a Bachelor’s Degree;
-
They withdrew from college previously and have decided to continue their education;
-
They feel Cedar Crest is the best match for their educational goals. A transfer counselor will help to make your transition to Cedar Crest a smooth one. We recognize that transfer students often have concerns and questions which are different from those of freshmen. Transfer students, however, enjoy the same benefits, privileges and quality education as all other students.
Plan Early
If you are attending a two-year college with plans to transfer to Cedar Crest, talk with the transfer counselors at your institution as early as possible. Cedar Crest has transfer agreements and course equivalent guidelines with many two-year colleges.

Transfer Credits
Courses graded C or above will be accepted for transfer if the courses are equivalent to courses offered in the Cedar Crest College curriculum. Evaluations of previous college work are done on a course-by-course basis, but students with an Associate's degree in a liberal arts program from an accredited institution usually receive junior status. Individual departments may differ in requirements with respect to rerequisites and minimum GPA.
The cumulative grade point average at the previous institution must be at least a 2.0 on a 4.0 scale. Credits may be earned by taking standardized tests such as the College Level Examination Program (CLEP) and the Prior Learning Assessment Program.
Credits earned by examination, or by transfer from another institution, are not computed into the Cedar Crest grade point average, except for courses taken by cross registration through the Lehigh Valley Association of Independent Colleges (LVAIC).
Cross Registration
Without additional cost, matriculated Cedar Crest students may register for courses at other institutions in the LVAIC, provided those courses are not available to them at Cedar Crest. These include DeSales University, Lafayette College, Moravian College, Muhlenberg College and Lehigh University.
