THREE NEW HEAD COACHES APPOINTED FOR THE 2007 SEASON

Allentown, PA (August 17, 2007) – The Cedar Crest Department of Athletics has announced the hiring of three new head coaches for the 2007 season.  Todd Ervin, Marci Lippert, and Kristin Maile will takeover the soccer, field hockey, and volleyball programs respectively. 

Ervin most recently served as Moravian College’s assistant coach for the men’s soccer team for three seasons. He holds an Advanced Regional License from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). A 1998 graduate of Muhlenberg College, Ervin was All-Centennial Conference for three seasons and twice named a NSCAA Regional All-American. He helped lead Muhlenberg to the NCAA Division III Tournament four times and to the Final Four in 1995. Ervin is currently second all-time for assists in a season (11) and career (28) and seventh all-time for career points (90) at Muhlenberg. Ervin also played professionally for the South Jersey Barons and is currently a member of the Lehigh Valley Soccer League and a Professional Soccer Trainer for LMYA, Macungie, PA.  He received a BA in Communications from Muhlenberg and is currently pursuing an MBA at Moravian College.

Lippert, also the Director of Athletic Communications at Cedar Crest, was a member of three nationally-ranked field hockey teams during her tenure at Mansfield University, including an ECAC Championship team in 2001. She captained the field hockey team in 2004, was named to the DII All Star Team in the same year and the Most Improved Player at Mansfield in 2002.  She was most recently the head coach at Garden Spot Middle School and is employed by Premier Field Hockey Camp located on the campus of Elizabethtown College. Lippert completed a year-long internship in athletic media relations at the University of Delaware and was the Interim Sports Information Director at Millersville University during the fall of 2006.  She also worked as a basketball statistician for Goldy-Beacom College and LaSalle University and was a student-worker in the Sports Information Department at Mansfield for four years.  She received a BS in Mass Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations from Mansfield, where she was recognized as a Presidential Scholar Athlete, and is currently one class away from her  M.Ed. in Sport Management at Millersville University.

Maile, currently the Director of Athletics at Cedar Crest College, also takes over the reigns of the volleyball team for the 2007-08 season. Maile was the head volleyball coach at The University of Scranton for seven years, where she accumulated over 20 wins each season, finishing with 166 wins in her career. Under Maile, Scranton won two MAC Freedom Championships, finished as runner-up four times and qualified for two NCAA tournaments and two ECAC tournaments. Her teams were ranked as high as 5th (out of 60 plus teams) in the Middle Atlantic Region. She coached 27 all-conference selections, including an AVCA All-Region selection and an MAC Rookie of the Year selection, and was twice named the MAC Freedom Coach of the Year. While at Scranton, Maile served on the NCAA Middle Atlantic Regional Volleyball Committee and the MAC Sport Committee. Maile also founded and directed Club NEPA, a volleyball club for juniors in northeastern PA, which consisted of teams for 16, 17 and 18 year old girls. Maile was a member of The University of Scranton's volleyball team, earning All-MAC honors at the middle blocker position, and holds a BS in Accounting and an MBA in Finance from Scranton. Maile arrived at Cedar Crest in 2006 from Wellesley College, where she was the Associate Director of Athletics.
