TENNIS EARNS SEVENTH SEED IN PAC COACHES’ POLL

Aston, PA (August 31, 2007) – The Cedar Crest College  tennis team was picked to finish seventh in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) coaches’ poll released on Friday. 

Cabrini College has been selected as the pre-season favorite.  The defending Conference Champions, Cavaliers, received 5 of 11 first-place votes for a total of 113 points.  Gwynedd-Mercy College, last year's conference runner-up, earned second place with 107 points, including four first-place votes.  Finishing in third, Misericordia University received 84 points.

Marywood University (78), Neumann College (68), Eastern University (65), Cedar Crest (61), Alvernia College (46), College of Notre Dame (43), Immaculata University (38) and Rosemont College (23) rounded out the voting.  Fifth and sixth place poll finishers, Neumann and Eastern, each received one first-place vote.

With an 8-7 overall record and a 6-5 finish in the PAC in 2006, the tennis team will look to continue its winning ways in the 2007 season.  Third-year head coach Lynn Pigliacampi and her team will travel to Philadelphia Biblical University for a 1:00 pm start on Saturday, September 1.
