CEDAR CREST TENNIS CLINCHES PLAYOFF SPOT WITH WIN OVER ROSEMONT

Rosemont, PA (October 13, 2007) – The Cedar Crest tennis team clinched a berth in to the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference playoffs with a 7-2 win over Rosemont College on Saturday afternoon in PAC action. 

Cedar Crest freshman Alex Kuebler defeated Kristy Bannon in the No. 2 singles spot, while sophomore Sara Messner beat Jessica Williams in the no. 3 singles spot.  Kuebler improves to a team-best 10-4 on the season in singles action.

Senior Colleen Ford added a win in the No. 4 singles slot.  Ford improves to 9-4 on the season.  Freshman Sarah Schopf and sophomore Kim Baksovich each won by default.

Schopf and freshman Amy Dichter earned a win at the No. 2 doubles spot, while Baksovich and Ford won by default in the No. 3 doubles spot.

Cedar Crest improves to 11-3 (7-3 PAC) on the season and will travel to Arcadia University for its final match of the season on Tuesday, October 16 at 3:30 p.m. in non-league action.
