CROSS COUNTRY PROGRAM RECEIVES USTFCCCA ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM HONORS

NEW ORLEANS (February 28, 2008) – The Cedar Crest College cross country team was recognized by the USTFCCCA as an All-Academic Team selection, announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association this afternoon. 

For a team to be considered for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award, they must have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional Meet.  The team must also have a minimum 3.10 team cumulative grade point average.

A total of 141 Division III women’s programs received the USTFCCCA’s All-Academic Team honors this year compared to 112 schools from last season.  Just over a third of all Division III institutions (390) who sponsor women’s cross country received the honor.  In addition, 30 of the 32 teams in the championship field at this year’s NCAA Division III Cross CountryChampionships were named USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams. 

The Falcons finished the 2007 season with an impressive fourth place finish at the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Championship.
