DOMBROSKI LEADS CEDAR CREST OVER LANCASTER BIBLE IN LACROSSE ACTION
Allentown, PA (April 17, 2008) – Sophomore Amanda Dombroski posted five goals and three assists to lead Cedar Crest College to a 16-2 win over Lancaster Bible College in non-league lacrosse action on Thursday afternoon.
Senior Danielle Skinner took a pass from sophomore Kelly Oakes to start the scoring for the Falcons just 15 seconds into the contest. Senior Bri Adam then scored back-to-back goals over a two-minute span before sophomore Brittany Symbol and Oakes each posted goals before the 16:27 mark in the first half to give the Falcons a 5-0 lead.
Dombroski notched the next tally at the 10:23 mark before Symbol added another goal to take a 7-0. Dombroski added her second goal of the game with 4:24 remaining in the first half before sophomore Thersia Ault added a goal just one minute later. Lancaster Bible’s Mary Jennings scored for the Chargers to cut the lead, 9-1. Ault added an insurance goal with just nine seconds remaining in the first half.
Dombroski started off the second half of play with an unassisted goal at the 25:51 mark. Symbol and sophomore Bailey Bedell added two goals over the next three minutes to take a 13-1 lead. Dombroski added another goal before LBC’s Jennings’ notched her second of the game to put the score at 14-2 in favor of Cedar Crest. Dombroski and Bedell rounded out the scoring for the Falcons.
The Chargers were led by Mary Jennings who tallied two goals.
The Falcons improve to 2-11 overall on the season, while Lancaster Bible falls to 2-10.
Cedar Crest will host Neumann College on Saturday, April 19 at 12:00 p.m. in conference action.
