Mission Statement:The Participating in Democracy project is a coalition of educational institutions and community organizations, led by Cedar Crest College in Allentown, Pennsylvania, dedicated to the reaffirmation and enrichment of the principles of autonomy, equality, and civility as the basis for a democratic society. To that end, partnering institutions endeavor to broaden and deepen the significance students attach to the meaning of citizenship, civic engagement, and political participation through the promotion of educational practices that reflect a student-centered and experimental approach to learning. |
