Healthy
Eating:
Choose
What You Eat Wisely
What
foods you choose to eat will affect
how you feel, how you look and how
you perform on exams and in physical
activity. Eating healthfully now
will also help to prevent many chronic
diseases such as heart disease, certain
types of cancer, osteoporosis, diabetes
and high blood pressure. Food choices
in the college cafeteria can be a
free-for-all. There are a wide variety
of selections to choose from (especially
desserts) and you choose your own
portions. Use the following guidelines
to choose a healthy eating plan on
a daily basis. Don't get caught in
the trap of skipping meals or eating
fast foods every night. This may
be your first experience in making
food selections from a huge variety
of foods. To avoid gaining excess
weight you need to be aware of potential
overeating problems and how to choose
a healthy diet.
