Allentown, PA (April 8, 2005) - At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Julie Foudy, a 17-year veteran of the U.S. Women’s National Team, helped her team reclaim its place as the top women’s soccer team in the world with a dramatic victory over Brazil. Their gold medal performance was one of a number by dynamic U.S. women’s teams, prompting many in the nation and the world to stand up and take notice of the role of women in sports today.
In celebration of the energy and spirit of women in sports, Cedar Crest College is excited to welcome Julie Foudy to the campus on Monday, April 11, 2004. The event, sponsored by Cedar Crest for the Women’s Sports Foundation, will include a “Tips from the Champion” clinic for selected young Lehigh Valley athletes and a public presentation at 7:00 p.m. The public event will include a lecture and Q&A period.
Media are invited to attend:
•

soccer field. Julie will work with young soccer players from Valley middle
and high schools.
•
