LOCAL STUDENTS RECEIVE CEDAR CREST COLLEGE DEGREES

Allentown, PA (August 24, 2007) - Thirty-four students will be awarded bachelor's and master's degrees on Sunday, August 26, 2007 at a Convocation Ceremony at Cedar Crest College.  The ceremony, to be held in Alumnae Hall, will begin at 4:00 p.m. and will be followed by the All College Picnic in front of the Miller Family Building.

During the Convocation Ceremony, President Jill Leauber Sherman will welcome the students and guests and give remarks.  Trustee Edward J. Meell and Student Government Association President Lauren Hetrick '08 will also address the students.  Degrees will be conferred by President Sherman, Dr. Carol Pulham, provost, and Joan Laffey, dean of student affairs.  In addition, President Sherman will recognize Dr. John Griswold, professor of chemical and physical sciences, as the winner of the 2007 Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching.
