BLACK HISTORY MONTH EVENT: CEDAR CREST COLLEGE BLACK AWARENESS STUDENT UNION PRESENTS ANNUAL "CULTURAL EXTRAVAGANZA"
Allentown, PA (February 12, 2008) - The Black Awareness Student Union (BASU) at Cedar Crest College will hold its annual "Cultural Extravaganza" in honor of Black History Month on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. in the Alumnae Hall Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.
"Cultural Extravaganza is all about education and entertainment," says Brittany Walker, a senior nuclear medicine technology major and president of BASU. "We celebrate African and African-American culture through singing, dance, poetry, readings, and more."
Along with student performances, the event will feature jazz saxophonist Ed Wiley Jr., Philadelphia hip-hop dance group Versatile, public-speaking group The New Jersey Orators, and R&B singer Iris.
