CEDAR CREST DANCE COMPANY STUDENTS PRESENT ORIGINAL CHOREOGRAPHY IN ANNUAL "STUDENT DANCE WORKS"
Allentown, PA (February 26, 2008) - The Cedar Crest College Dance Company will showcase the original choreography of eight student dancers in its annual "Student Dance Works" held on March 28 and 29, 2008 at 8:00 p.m. in the Samuels Theatre, Tompkins College Center.
The students developed their pieces during a Fall and Spring Student Dance Works class taught by the concert's director, Michelle Munno Jacobs, assistant professor of dance at Cedar Crest.
The student choreographers are: Melissa Keiser '10 of Emmaus, PA; Alysse Falbo '08 of Roslyn, PA; Mariah McMullen '10 of Franklin, PA; Michelle Tetreault '09 of Southampton, NJ; Melissa Turek '09 of West Milford, NJ; Brittany Ankiewicz '09 of Belchertown, MA; Carrie Moore '10 of Reading, PA; and Desireé Cosgrove '10 of Glen Mills, PA.
As a result of this class, Alysse Falbo's choreography was chosen to represent Cedar Crest College at the American Dance Festival at SUNY Brockport in March 2008. As a participant, Alysse's piece will be considered for a gala performance in which only a select few are chosen from participating colleges.
The lighting for the production was designed by students Valerie Baloga '08, of Swoyersville, PA, and Alexandra Edginton-Giordano '10, of Montrose, PA, under the advisement of Roxanne Amico, professor of performing arts at the College.
