CEDAR CREST COLLEGE AND JUST BORN, INC ANNOUNCE WINNERS OF HIGH SCHOOL

"iCandy: Choose Ur Chew" CONTEST

Allentown, PA (October 22, 2007) - Last spring, students from local high schools were challenged by Cedar Crest College and Just Born, Inc. to come up with their most creative and innovative viral marketing concepts for two of the local company's best-known candy brands, MIKE AND IKE® and PEANUT CHEWS®.  Area high school students received education on marketing fundamentals through informational workshops conducted by the Cedar Crest College Innovation Team.  The high school teams submitted their ideas and on September 28, 2007, after making it through the semi-final round, the top five teams gathered at Cedar Crest College for judging and the live announcement of the grand prize winning marketing concept.  The contest was made possible by a grant from Just Born, Inc.

The winners were as follows:

• GRAND PRIZE - Kim Wagner and Sarah Barchini, Parkland High School:  "Men Love Sports"
  • Faculty Advisor, Lori O'Neill
  • Prize included $700 awarded to the Parkland High School Marketing Club and a Just Born factory tour
• 1st Runner Up: Erica Mendez and Douglas Reddinger, William Allen High School:  "Fireworks"
  • Faculty Advisor, Connie Ganey
  • Prize included $200 awarded to the William Allen High School Marketing Club and a day to shadow Cedar Crest College Student Innovators Kara Kaskiw and Kristian Parchinski
• 2nd Runner Up: Ryan Long and Ceola Blake, Parkland High School:  "Make your Way out the Box"
  • Faculty Advisor, Lori O'Neill
  • Prize included $100 awarded to the Parkland High School Marketing Club and a day to shadow Cedar Crest College Student Innovators Kara Kaskiw and Kristian Parchinski
• All student finalists received Just Born goodie bags and t-shirts.

Judging was conducted by representatives from Cedar Crest College, Just Born, Inc. and the Morning Call.
