Refund Policy for Students Withdrawing from the College

Students withdrawing from the College (or from all classes) after the first day of the semester, but prior to the 60% point of the semester, will have tuition, room and board charges, and financial aid adjusted according to the actual percentage of the semester that has been completed as of the date of last attendance or official withdrawal.  For financial aid recipients, the unearned portion of aid and loans will be returned to the Title IV funding sources and/or lenders, in accordance with the federal return of funds policy governing Title IV assistance.

Please note:  Students who have already received a refund of a credit balance may owe money to the college or to the Title IV programs in the case of withdrawal within the first 60% of the semester.

Schedule of Adjustment of Charges and Aid for Students Withdrawing from the College:

Prior to first day of class:
100% refund

Prior to 60% point* of semester:
Charges and aid will be adjusted according to actual percentage of semester completed as of last date of attendance or official withdrawal

After 60% point* of semester:
No refunds or adjustment of charges and aid.

*Calculated as number of calendar days completed out of total number of calendar days in semester, excluding scheduled semester breaks of five days or more.

Refund Policy and Procedures for Obtaining a Refund of a Credit Balance

Students may submit a written request for a refund of a credit balance resulting from overpayment, adjustments of charges, or the crediting of loans or other aid. Refunds will be issued generally within two weeks of receiving the written request, provided aid has been released. Federal regulations allow the college 14 days from the start of the semester or the receipt of the loans (whichever is later) to issue a refund of a credit balance. Students will be notified by invoice when a student loan disbursement is received. If the loan results in a credit balance, the student will receive a refund check approximately two weeks after the loan is disbursed to and received by the college.

The policy for withdrawals and refunds is subject to change.
