Professional Affiliations
Faculty members in the chemical and physical sciences department are recognized leaders in their fields, and it shows in their professional affiliations. It also benefits the students who are interested in chemistry, biochemistry, and forensic science. These affiliations begin “at the top,” including:
The American Chemical Society
Pamela D. Kistler, Ph.D., who is the chair of our chemical and physical sciences department, helps shape policy for the Lehigh Valley chapter of the American Chemical Society. Our students regularly attend meetings of this group in order to network with professionals and learn more about the latest developments in the chemical and physical sciences.
The American Academy of Forensic Sciences
Lawrence Quarino, Ph.D., who is the chair of Cedar Crest’s forensic science program, also chairs the Forensic Science Educational Programs Accreditation Commission (FEPAC) of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences. (FEPAC is the main accrediting organization in the field of forensic science.) Students regularly attend and present research at events conducted by the American Academy of Forensic Science.
