Prizes and Awards

Whether it’s in the classroom, in the lab, at a conference, or in the field, students in the chemical and physical sciences department at Cedar Crest College do high-quality work, and they are frequently recognized by the College and external organizations for their achievements. Here are some of the awards available to students in our program:


American Chemical Society Award: Given by the Lehigh Valley Section of the ACSAmerican Chemical Society to the senior who has attained the highest average in chemistry.

American Institute of Chemists Award: Given by the Philadelphia Chapter of the American Institute of Chemists to the student showing the most promise in chemical research.


The Outstanding Forensic Science Senior Award: The award is presented to the outstanding senior in the Forensic Science program. The award is based on excellence in academics, active participation in the Forensic Science Student Organization and professional involvement.
