Sarah Pilkington ’13 Screens Rockumentary

Senior Communications major Sarah Pilkington premiered her documentary for her senior project on Thursday April 25 at 7 p.m. in the Convergence Lab. The documentary is titled Living It Up: a This Is All Now Documentary and focuses on an up and coming band from Long Island.

The documentary focuses on This Is All Now, a pop rock band from Long Island, New York. The band consists of five members: Okan Kazdal (lead singer), Louie Malpeli (guitar), Jordan Caroleo (guitar), Thomas Angenbroich (bass), and Mike Pittelli (drums). The band has performed/toured with acts such as Honor Society, Allstar Weekend, and The All American Rejects to name a few. They released their debut EP, “Supernova,” in July 2012 and recently released their sophomore EP, “Live It Up,” on March 22, 2013. The band has also recently auditioned and received a call back for America’s Got Talent.

Living It Up: a This Is All Now Documentary features interviews with the band and performance footage from their EP release show in Allentown and their recent tour with Honor Society at the end of March.

Pilkington’s love of music and live performances kept her motivated throughout the filming and editing of the documentary. Regarding her experience working on the documentary, Pilkington states: “Working on this documentary has been a great experience. I have loved every minute of it from interviewing the band to editing the video. I love listening to music, especially music from independent bands, and going to concerts so getting to incorporate that into my senior project has been amazing. All five of the members in This Is All Now are fantastic and so talented and I am so glad that I have gotten to know them. I cannot wait to share this documentary with not only the band but people who have never heard of them before.”

Pilkington will also be presenting her senior project during the Communication Department’s Defense Day, being held on April 30.
