Celebrate Creativity!
April 14

The Humanities Department invites you to participate in a Celebration of Creativity on Sunday, April 14th, beginning at 2 p.m. in the 1867 Room of the College Center. Please join the English faculty; the members of the English honorary society, Xi Kappa; the members of Preterite, the literary club; and the editors of Pitch: A Journal of Arts and Literature as we recognize students from across the College for their achievements in the creative arts.

Come see and hear the best student work of the year, chosen by the judges of Preterite's writing contest and the students, faculty, and alumnae peer reviewers for Pitch. Refreshments will be served!

The celebration begins at 2 p.m. with the induction ceremony for Xi Kappa. This year's inductees are Gabrielle Johnson, Holly Manganelli, Magdalena Rychlik, and Kaitlyn Shapiro.

We then continue with readings of their winning entries to Preterite's writing contest by Rachel Morgandale, Stephanie Karpeuk, Sascha Fink, Emily Orischak, and Kathleen Mendez.

Finally, we'll be launching Volume 3 of Pitch: A Journal of Arts and Literature with an audiovisual compilation of some highlights of this year's issue and distributing special surprises to all who come to the reception to mark the occasion of the launch. Featured work this year includes poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, scriptwriting, fine art, digital photography, digital art, and video documentary from students in the English program, New Media program, Art program, and Performing Arts program.

This is one of Cedar Crest's most significant annual celebrations of our students' creative achievements from across the entire campus. Come and catch the excitement!
