Honor Society

Students with a record of academic success and a passion for English are invited to join the Xi Kappa chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honor Society.

New members of Sigma Tau Delta are inducted into Xi Kappa each fall semester.

Benefits of membership include the opportunity to:

• Submit work to Sigma Tau Delta’s national publications and attend their annual conference
• Raise literature awareness during the American Library Association’s Banned Books Week, primarily through a Banned Books Raffle and the sale of “I Read Banned Books” buttons
• Work with Preterite (the College literary club) to create, sponsor and host events encouraging support for literature and writing, both on campus and beyond
• Apply for scholarships and internships offered by the Sigma Tau Delta national organization
