Community Related Experiences in Art Through Engagement LLC

CREATE is designed as a collaborative studio art and theory based course centered on designing and implementing community based art projects. The collaborative art projects are initiated as a means of bringing awareness to the impact art may have on local and global communities. Field trips to museums, galleries and artist studios will provide a foundation for understanding art as a cultural catalyst. Course materials will include readings, artist talks and visual presentations intended to foster a critical dialogue concerning current as well as historical trends within art as they relate to community and social engagement.

Course will be held in the fall 2012 and spring 2013 semesters on Mondays from 1-3:30 p.m. in the Multicultural Center in Butz Hall. Housing will be in Butz Hall.
