In Our Sights: Addressing the Issue of Gun Violence in America

On Thursday, Sept. 26 - Sunday, Sept. 29, Cedar Crest College's performing arts department will be showcasing In Our Sights, a group of 11 one-act plays that focus on gun violence in a variety of situations. At the conclusion of Sunday night's performance, there will be a panel discussion with Cedar Crest Criminal Justice Professor Scott Hoke and Business Professor Michael Donovan, who will talk about the issues of gun violence with the audience.

"There are always at least two sides to every argument. At Cedar Crest, we strive to give our students opportunities to think critically and form their own opinions, even when the topics are difficult," said Cedar Crest College President, Carmen Twillie Ambar. "As a liberal arts college, our students are immersed in conversations from multiple perspectives, which is how I think individuals learn to make better decisions. I’m excited that our performing arts department is approaching the issue of gun violence in such a thought-provoking way."
