Fall Orientation 2011

This I Believe

Fall Orientation is around the corner. Soon, new students will be arriving to take part in orientation activities and start the academic year. The dates for Fall Orientation are August 25-28, 2011.

Our mandatory four-day program will begin on Thursday, August 25, 2011, within registration and check-in beginning at 8:30 am. This program is designed to build off sessions offered during Summer Orientation and prepare you for a successful academic and social transition to Cedar Crest College. The fall experience is very different from Summer Orientation.

During the program, students will participate in faculty workshops, attend a Road Trip to a Lucky Strike in Philadelphia, participate in a Day of Service in the Lehigh Valley, become a part of many campus traditions which include Open Door Ceremony, Strawberry Festival, Big Sis and Little Sis mentoring program, and ceremoniously begin the official start of the academic experience by attending Opening Convocation.

A featured event during Fall Orientation is entitled "Falcon Games". On Thursday, August 25, 2011, the Orientation Assistants (OAs) will be planning events which embrace the Cedar Crest spirit. Students will be asked to wear school colors - yellow and white - to demonstrate school pride. Display your love and enthusiasm for your new College - Cedar Crest! Think of creative ways to participate in this annual event. Awards to teams that demonstrate the most spirit will be presented by faculty and administration.

Parents and families, you are an important part of your student's transition and future success. A special program has been prepared for you. Join us on Thursday, August 25, 2011. A schedule of specific sessions has been posted on the orientation web page.
