Orientation Registration

Welcome to Cedar Crest College! Transfer students – make your way over to the Tompkins College Center to register for orientation, pick up your information packet and obtain your residence hall key. Resident students will proceed to the halls after completing the check-in process. Commuter students may visit the information tables and bookstore./p>

For parents and families only! Stop by the Parent’s Corner on the 3rd Floor of the TCC during check-in. Obtain information about joining the Cedar Crest College Parent and Family Council.

Essential Steps

Stop by the Information Desk to obtain your photo ID, pick up your mailbox key, and register your vehicle. Head up the stairs to Alcove A and meet Dr. Nancy Roberts, Director of Health Services, who can answer any questions you may have about your health forms or health and counseling services here at Cedar Crest.

10:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.
President’s Family Lunch
President’s Residence
(Rain site: TCC Dining Hall)

Grab your family and head on over to the east end of campus to join President Carmen Ambar for a delicious picnic-style lunch on the President’s lawn. You will also meet President Ambar as you enjoy a leisurely lunch with your family. Picnic blankets included!

Get ready to celebrate the beginning of your Cedar Crest journey when you join President Ambar, Dr. Betty Powell, Provost and the Orientation Assistants for an official welcome to the Cedar Crest College family!

Belief in a Smooth Transition - Transfer Welcome and Overview of Program

Join Christine Nowik, Director of Academic Services, for a brief welcome and overview of Transfer Orientation.

1:45 – 2:00 p.m.
Belief in Empowerment – Importance of Women’s Education and Women’s Leadership

Adjusting to a new college is enhanced through involvement and engagement. Learn first-hand from our Executive Director of Women’s Leadership, Dr. Cynthia Fulford, how transfer students can become instant members of the campus community and build solid leadership skills for your future.

Where Are YOU and Where Are YOU Going?
1867 Room – Tompkins College Center (TCC)

Kate Carannante, director of Career Planning, will provide an overview of the Career Planning resources available at Cedar Crest. It’s never too early to begin planning for your future. It starts now!

2:15 – 2:30 p.m.
Technology Tips
1867 Room – Tompkins College Center (TCC)

Ms. Shannon Pretko, Information Technology Specialist, will provide transfer students with some tips and resources to make your experience with technology simple, productive and efficient. Learn how Information Technology supports students throughout the academic year.

2:30 – 2:45 p.m.
Transferring to Cedar Crest

Christine M. Nowik, Director of Academic Services, will discuss your Statement of Advanced Standing as well as other issues related to your status as a new Cedar Crest student.

Summer Orientation 2010

2:45 – 3:30 p.m.
Individual Advising Appointments (BHA)

Faculty advisors will join transfer students in Blaney Hall for academic advising.

Cedar Crest College Bookstore is open (TCC Lower Level) for students who return early from advising appointments.

4:00 – 5:00 p.m.
New Student Reception
1867 Room – Tompkins College Center (TCC)

A reception for transfer students only! Join faculty and staff as they welcome you to the Cedar Crest community.

Transfer students will follow the New Student Orientation schedule for activities occurring from 5:00 p.m., Thursday, August 25, 2011 through Sunday, August 28, 2011.
