MISERICORDIA OUTLASTS CEDAR CREST FIELD HOCKEY IN PAC ACTION
Allentown, PA (September 13, 2007) – The Cedar Crest College field hockey team fell 5-0 to Misericordia University in Pennsylvania Athltic Conference action on Thursday afternoon.
Megan Stefanic scored the eventual game-winner 8:11 into the start of the contst. Laura Leighow added a tally just under five minutes later to give Misericordia (4-2 overall, 2-0 PAC) the 2-0 lead at halftime.
Leighow notched her second goal of the game 1:31 into the start of the second half. Kelly Dougherty added two goals late in the second half to secure the victory.
Misericordia held a 32-0 advantage in shots and a 10-1 advantage in corners.
Sophomore Rachel Orlen stopped 16 shots in the cage for Cedar Crest, while Ellen Howanitz and Heather Heun were not tested in the game.
The Falcons, who fall to 0-6 overall and 0-2 in the PAC, will be back in action on Thursday, September 20 when they host PAC rival Immaculata University for a 4:00 p.m. contest.
