CEDAR CREST TENNIS FINSHES SEASON WITH WIN OVER ARCADIA; SETS NEW SCHOOL RECORD
Glenside, PA (October 16, 2007) – The Cedar Crest tennis team made school history, earning its 12th victory in a single season, with an 8-1 win over Arcadia University on Tuesday afternoon.
The 12th victory in a single season for the Falcons sets a new all-time school record for wins in a season. The Falcons have also set a new record for Pennsylvania Athletic Conference wins in a season with seven.
Cedar Crest sophomore Maria Mallery posted a win at the No. 1 singles spot, while classmate Laura Shivley added a win at the No. 2 singles slot to lead the Falcons.
Freshman Alex Kuebler won her third-straight match and posted her team-best 11th win of the season in the No. 3 singles spot.
Freshman Sarah Schopf and Senior Colleen Ford posted wins at the No. 5 and No. 6 singles positions, respectively.
Ford and Shivley notched a win at the No. 1 doubles spot, while Mallery and Kuebler posted their team-best 11th win of the season at the No. 2 slot in doubles action. Messner and Schopf added a win in No. 3 doubles action.
Cedar Crest improves to 12-3 (7-3 PAC) on the season and will play in the PAC Championships this Saturday, October 20 at 2:00 p.m. against No. 1 seed Cabrini College.
