VOLLEYBALL SPLITS HOME OPENER – DEFEATS PSU ABINGTON, FALLS TO BRYN MAWR
Allentown, PA (September 1, 2007) – The Cedar Crest College women’s volleyball team defeated Penn State Abington, 3-0, and fell to Bryn Mawr College, 3-2, in its home opener on Saturday afternoon in Lees Hall.
In match one (30-16, 30-13, 30-13), sophomore Kelly Oakes led the Falcons over PSU Abington with 12 kills and five digs, while classmate Mackenzie Lee posted seven kills and four digs. Freshman Lauren Seale notched 25 assists in her collegiate debut.
The Falcons took Bryn Mawr to the wire in match two (24-30, 30-25, 23-30, 33-31, 13-15), ending game-five with a close decision. Lee led the charge with 14 kills, eight digs, and a team-high four service aces. Oakes added 13 kills and 18 digs, while freshman Keri Lasky made 12 kills and a team-high 24 digs. Seale posted 51 assists and 10 digs.
Cedar Crest is now 1-1 on the season and will travel to King’s College on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m.
