VOLLEYBALL SHUTS DOWN ARCADIA, FALLS TO URSINUS
Allentown, PA (September 8, 2007) – The Cedar Crest College women’s volleyball team defeated Arcadia University, 3-1, and lost a 3-1 decision to Ursinus College on Saturday afternoon in Lees Hall.
Ursinus College outlasted the Falcons in a four-game set, 30-28, 30-22, 30-32, and 30-20. Cedar Crest was led by sophomore Kelly Oakes, who posted 11 kills, 11 digs, and two blocks. Freshman Lauren Seale added seven kills, 28 assists, and 10 digs, while freshman Keri Lasky notched nine kills and a team-high 20 digs.
Cedar Crest topped Arcadia, 30-20, 30-28, 20-30, and 30-19, in a four-game set for its second victory of the season. Lasky had a career day with 14 kills, 26 digs, two aces, and one block. Sophomore Mackenzie Lee added 10 kills, a team-high seven aces, and eight digs. Seale posted 37 assists and 18 digs.
The Falcons are now 2-3 on the season and will travel to Gwynedd-Mercy on Tuesday, September 11 for a 7:00 p.m. match.
