SUNDERHAUS NAMED FIRST-EVER CSAC BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Aston, PA (November 17, 2008) – Freshman Elizabeth Sunderhaus (Hamilton, OH/Stephen T. Badin) was named the first-ever Colonial States Athletic Conference women’s basketball player of the week for her outstanding play in the Falcon Classic Tip-off Tournament this past weekend.

Sunderhaus posted a game-high 31 points and seven steals in her career debut to lead Cedar Crest to an 82-56 victory over Lancaster Bible in the first round of the Falcon Classic on Saturday. 

She then tallied her first career double-double with 16 points and 15 boards in an 83-75 victory over Eastern University in the Championship game of the Falcon Classic.

Sunderhaus was named the tournament MVP after averaging 23.5 points and 10.5 rebounds.  She also went a perfect, 17-for-17, from the free throw line. 

Cedar Crest is currently 2-0 overall on the season.  The Falcons will travel to Penn State Berks on Wednesday, November 19 at 6:00 p.m. for a non-conference contest.
