CEDAR CREST FIELD HOCKEY FALLS 4-2 TO PHILADELPHIA BIBLICAL

Langhorne, PA (September 24, 2008) – The Cedar Crest College field hockey team dropped a 4-2 loss to Philadelphia Biblical University in Colonial States Athletic Conference action on Wednesday afternoon.

PBU’s Erin Rohrer and Erica Yordy tallied two goals to put the Crimson Eagles up, 2-0, with less than 10 minutes remaining in the first half.  Rohrer then scored her second goal of the contest at the 43rd minute mark to give PBU a 3-0 lead. 

Senior Heather Gallagher then tipped a pass from freshman Tara Fikes to help the Falcons cut the lead, 3-1.

PBU answered again when Juanita Crane added a goal in the 66th minute giving the Crimson Eagles a 4-1 lead.

Sophomore Jessica Sanchez then nailed a shot from the right side with three minutes remaining to end the scoring for the contest.

Cedar Crest falls to 2-5 overall (1-1 CSAC), while PBU improves to 2-6 overall (1-1 CSAC).

Cedar Crest will host the College of Notre Dame in CSAC action on Saturday, September 27 at 1:00 p.m.
