DECKY SCORES GAME-WINNER IN FIELD HOCKEY WIN OVER NOTRE DAME

Allentown, PA (October 20, 2008) – Sophomore Jen Decky scored the game-winning goal just five minutes into the start of the second half to give Cedar Crest College a 2-1 win over the College of Notre Dame on Monday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference action.

Notre Dame opened the scoring at the 14:07 mark in the first half to give the Gators the 1-0 advantage.

Cedar Crest’s leading scorer Heather Gallagher then tied the game with just over two minutes remaining in the first half off of a rebound on the keeper’s pads.

Decky then notched the game-winner just five minutes in the second half to make it a 2-1 contest to score her second goal of the season. 

Cedar Crest improves to its best record of 3-11 (2-6 CSAC) since the 2005 season, while the College of Notre Dame falls to 1-11 overall (0-7 CSAC).

Cedar Crest will travel to Immaculata University on Wednesday, October 22 at 4:00 p.m. in CSAC action.
