FIELD HOCKEY DROPS CSAC CONTEST TO IMMACULATA

Immaculata, PA (October 22, 2008) – The Cedar Crest College field hockey team battled Immaculata University to a 2-1 halftime score, but it would not be enough as the Mighty Macs scored three unanswered goals in the second half to earn a 5-1 win in Colonial States Athletic Conference action on Wednesday afternoon.

The Mighty Macs scored two quick goals in the first 10 minutes of the contest to take the early 2-0 lead before senior Heather Gallgher scored her fifth goal of the season in the 20th minute to cut the lead, 2-1.

The second half was all Immaculata, which scored three goals over a five minute period early in the second half.

Immaculata held a 16-6 shot advantage and a 7-4 advantage in penalty corners.

Cedar Crest falls to 3-12 (2-6 CSAC), while Immaculata improves to 5-11 overall (3-5 CSAC).

Cedar Crest will host Neumann College on Saturday, October 25 at 1:00 p.m. in CSAC action.  The Falcons will honor lone senior Heather Gallagher in a pre-game ceremony.
