ZIEGLER AND SEIFERT NAMED TO ALL-CSAC FIELD HOCKEY TEAM

Aston, PA (October 31, 2008) – Sophomore Eryn Ziegler (Kutztown, PA/Kutztown) and freshman Emily Seifert (Reading, PA/Schuykill Valley) were recognized by the Colonial States Athletic Conference as All-CSAC selections voted on by the league’s coaches and released by the conference office on Friday afternoon.

Ziegler, a previous All-Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Honorable Mention team member, was named to the All-CSAC second-team as a defender.  Ziegler, who posted two defensive saves on the season, helped to improve a defense that let in 101 goals in 2007 to let in just 50 goals in 2008.  She also helped to lower a 7.83 goals against average in 2007 to 4.09 in 2008.

Seifert, a midfielder, was named to the All-CSAC Honorable Mention team and was also named to the All-CSAC Sportsmanship team.  In just her first season of collegiate play, Seifert took on the responsibility of the center midfield position and posted two goals and one assist on the season.  She also added two defensive saves.

The Cedar Crest College field hockey team finished with a 3-13 overall (2-6 CSAC) record.
