CEDAR CREST FIELD HOCKEY’S HEATHER GALLAGHER IS FIRST CEDAR CREST ATHLETE FEATURED IN SPORTS ILLUSTRATED

Tampa, FL (December 10, 2008) – Senior Heather Gallagher (Schnecksville, PA/William Allen/Penn State) added another press clipping to her already extensive resume on Tuesday afternoon.  She was featured in the December 15, 2008 issue of Sports Illustrated’s Faces in the Crowd. 

Gallagher, a senior forward at Cedar Crest and a 35-year-old mother of two, was named the Colonial States Athletic Conference field hockey player of the week in September. She scored the game-winner in a 4-1 victory over Rosemont and three days later made a game-winning penalty stroke as the Falcons beat Hood 2-1.

Gallagher was a three-year member of the field hockey team at Penn State University from 1991-1993 and is currently finishing her nursing degree at Cedar Crest. 

The Cedar Crest College field hockey team finished with a 3-13 overall (2-6 CSAC) record and was voted the CSAC Sportsmanship Team of the Year by a vote of the league’s players.
