CEDAR CREST’S “SUPERMOM” HEATHER GALLAGHER WINS CSAC FIELD HOCKEY PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Aston, PA (September 22, 2008) – Senior Heather Gallagher(Schnecksville, PA/William Allen/Penn State) once again proved age is nothing but a number by being named the Colonial States Athletic Conference Field Hockey Player of the Week for her outstanding play in the week ending September 20. 

Gallagher, a 35-year old non-traditional student-athlete at Cedar Crest, scored the game-winning goal in a 4-1 win over Rosemont College, and tallied the game-winning penalty stroke after two overtime periods in the 2-1 win over Hood College this past week.

Gallagher was a three-year member of the field hockey team at Penn State University from 1991-1993 and is currently finishing her nursing degree at Cedar Crest. 

Cedar Crest has not won a Field Hockey Player of the Week honor since the 2005 season.

Cedar Crest is currently 2-4 overall (1-0 CSAC). 

Cedar Crest will travel to Philadelphia Biblical University on Wednesday, September 24 at 4:30 p.m. in Colonial States Athletic Conference action.
