SOFTBALL DEFEATS KEYSTONE IN SIXTH-STRAIGHT WIN
Allentown, PA (March 18, 2008) – The Cedar Crest College softball team remained hot, despite the cold weather, defeating Keystone College in both games of the double-header to win their fifth and sixth-straight games on Tuesday afternoon.
The Falcons posted a 5-3 victory in game one, and a 6-0 win in the nightcap.
Senior Allison Holland threw 14 consecutive innings to lead the Falcons to their back-to-back victories. She allowed five hits, three runs, and struck out seven batters in game one, while allowing four hits, no runs, and striking out seven in game two. She walked only four batters on the day.
Senior Mel Devlin went 3-4 with one RBI and junior Alyssa Bonner went 2-4 with two RBI to lead Cedar Crest in game one. Holland and junior Alyssa Kabat each went 2-4 in the win.
In game two, sophomore Maria Mallery went 2-2 with two RBI to lead the Falcons, while sophomore Rachel Orlen went 1-1 and drove in one run.
The Falcons improve to 8-5 overall, while Keystone College falls to 0-7 on the season.
Cedar Crest will travel to Neumann College on Friday, March 28 at 3:00 p.m. for a double-header in conference action.
