CEDAR CREST TENNIS WINS THIRD-STRAIGHT IN VICTORY OVER ALVERNIA

Reading, PA (September 16, 2008) – The Cedar Crest College tennis team posted its third-straight win in a 6-3 victory over Alvernia College on Tuesday afternoon in non-conference action.

Junior Sara Messner posted a 6-3, 6-0 win over Samantha Bader in the No. 3 singles position, while sophomore Amy Dichter posted a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Laura Ehnes in No. 4 singles action.  Sophomore Sarah Schopf was the final winner in singles action for the Falcons with a 6-2, 6-1 win over opponent Brittney Veith.

Junior Maria Mallery and sophomore Alex Kuebler notched a win at the No. 1 doubles spot with an 8-3 win, while junior Laura Shivley and Messner took the No. 2 doubles slot with an 8-4 win.  Dichter and Schopf added a win at No. 3 doubles with an 8-3 victory. 

Cedar Crest is currently 4-3 overall, while Alvernia College falls to 1-4 on the season. 

The Falcons will host Penn State Berks on Thursday, September 18 at 3:30 p.m. in non-league action.
