CEDAR CREST TENNIS EARNS FOURTH-STRAIGHT VICTORY IN WIN OVER PSU BERKS

Allentown, PA (September 18, 2008) – The Cedar Crest College tennis team posted its fourth-straight win in a 8-1 victory over Penn State Berks on Thursday afternoon in non-league action.

Junior Maria Mallery posted a 7-5, 6-1 win over Nicole Cresswell in the No. 1 singles spot, while sophomore Alex Kuebler added a win in No. 2 singles action with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Ashley Averbach. 

Kuebler and Mallery also notched a win in No. 1 doubles action with an 8-0 shutout of Averbach and Cresswell.

Junior Sara Messner posted a 6-4, 6-0 win in No. 4 singles action, while sophomore Amy Dichter earned a win in No. 5 singles.  Sophomore Sarah Schopf took No. 6 singles with a win over Lisa Heintzelman.

Junior Laura Shively and Messner posted an 8-1 victory in No. 2 doubles, while Schopf and Dichter added a win in No. 3 doubles.

Cedar Crest improves to 5-3 overall (2-0 CSAC). 

The Falcons will host CSAC opponent Cabrini College on Saturday, September 20 at 1:00 p.m.
