SNEAD POSTS TOP FINISH FOR THE FALCONS IN CSAC CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP
Allentown, PA (November 1, 2008) – Junior Michelle Snead finished in 22nd place overall in a time of 23:32 to lead the Cedar Crest College cross country team to a fifth place finish at the Colonial States Athletic Conference championships held on the campus of Cedar Crest on Saturday afternoon.
Keystone College’s Jacqui Kirby took the first place finish overall in a time of 19:41 to win the CSAC Individual Championship. Erica Matticola from Gwynedd-Mercy earned a second place finish overall in a time of 20:13 and Jenna Fancher from Keystone College took third place with a time of 20:16.
In overall team standings, league newcomer Keystone College took first place overall with a team total of 38 points. Gwynedd-Mercy College finished in second place with 52 points and Marywood University took a close third place with 55 total points. Baptist Bible earned a fourth place finish (153), while Cedar Crest (157) finished in fifth. Cabrini (168), Immaculata (181), Neumann (182), and Centenary (197) rounded out the remaining finishers.
Following Snead, freshman Kelly Gonzalez was the next top finisher for Cedar Crest, taking 24th place overall in a time of 23:38. Sophomore Kristen Geisinger notched a 26th place finish in a time of 23:40 and junior Sam Barbato took 40th place overall in 24:45. Senior Thersia Ault ended in 49th place (26:05) and sophomore Colleen Curran posted a 51st place finish (26:19) for the Falcons.
