CIPRIANI NAMED TO LEHIGH VALLEY SMALL COLLEGE BASKETBALL UNSUNG HERO TEAM

Bethlehem, PA (December 9, 2009) – Junior Kelley Cipriani (Medford, NJ/Shawnee) was named to the Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball “Unsung Hero” Team at a luncheon at Starter’s Pub in Bethlehem.

The Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Organization is made up of the seven small college schools in the Lehigh Valley including East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania, Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, Cedar Crest College, Delaware Valley College, DeSales University, Moravian College and Muhlenberg College.

Cipriani, a 2009-10 team captain, embodies the definition of the “Unsung Hero.”  She is a leader in every sense of the word and has helped Cedar Crest to its best start in school history so far this season.  She is averaging 4.1 points and 1.7 rebounds per game.  She leads the team in three point shooting percentage, shooting 45 percent from beyond the arc.

The members of the December “Unsung Hero” Team of the Month were, Jackie Shunkwiler of Delaware Valley, Kaila Wiand from DeSales, Mel Villano of East Stroudsburg, Meredith Starr from Kutztown Emily Smith of Moravian, and Kaitlyn O’Malley of Muhlenberg.

Cedar Crest is currently 5-2 overall (0-1 CSAC) on the season.  The Falcons will return to action on January 2, 2010 when they travel across the Lehigh Valley to Moravian College for the Starters Moravian Winter Classic.  The game is slated for a 3:00 p.m. start.
