JONES NAMED CEDAR CREST ATHLETE OF THE WEEK AFTER SCORING CAREER-HIGH 32 POINTS

Allentown, PA (January 19, 2010) – Senior Lakeema Jones (Williamsport, PA/Williamsport) was named the Cedar Crest Falcon of the Week for her outstanding play in the week ending January 17th.

Jones scored a career-high 32 points in a 92-84 loss to Centenary College in a Colonial States Athletic Conference matchup on Monday evening.  She shot an outstanding 14-of-18 from the field and also went 4-of-8 from three-point land.  She then added 18 points in a 67-53 victory over Philadelphia Biblical on Wednesday evening.  Jones finished her week hitting for double digits once again with 10 points in a 74-61 CSAC win over Keystone College on Saturday afternoon.

Jones currently ranks third in the CSAC in three-point shooting percentage, shooting 38.6 percent from three-point range.  She also ranks second on the team and 11th in the CSAC, averaging 13.8 points per game. 

Cedar Crest is currently 9-5 overall (2-2 CSAC) on the season and will return to action on Thursday evening for a Colonial States Athletic Conference matchup against Marywood University at 7:00 p.m. in Lees Gymnasium.
