CEDAR CREST USES BIG SECOND HALF TO DOWN PHILADELPHIA BIBLICAL IN CSAC PLAY
Langhorne, PA (January 25, 2010) –The Cedar Crest College basketball team used a big second half to down Philadelphia Biblical University, 70-48, in a Colonial States Athletic Conference matchup on Monday evening.
After holding just a 36-30 lead at halftime, Cedar Crest came out on fire in the second half of play. The Falcons held PBU to just 18 points and forced them to shoot just 29.2 percent from the field in the second half.
Senior Allison Horn (New Triploi, PA/Northwestern) had a complete game for the Falcons, posting 11 points, nine assists, eight boards, and four steals on the night. Senior Kelly Oakes (Wilmington, DE/Delcastle) added 10 points, eight boards, and seven assists in the win for Cedar Crest.
Senior Lakeema Jones (Williamsport, PA/Williamsport) led the Falcons with 20 points on the night, while sophomore Lizzy Sunderhaus (Hamilton, OH/Stephen T. Badin) went 5-for-5 for 10 points and three steals in just 18 minutes of action.
PBU was led by the CSAC’s leading scorer Dani Norton, who tallied a team-high 20 points.
Cedar Crest improves to 10-6 overall (4-3 CSAC) on the season, while PBU falls to 3-13 overall (0-8 CSAC). The Falcons will return to action on Thursday evening for a CSAC matchup with Cabrini College at 7:00 p.m. at Lees Gymnasium. Please wear black shirts on Thursday evening because we are trying to “Blackout” the gym.
