OAKES NAMED TO CSAC BASKETBALL HONOR ROLL OF THE WEEK FOR SECOND TIME

Aston, PA (January 25, 2010) – Senior Kelly Oakes (Wilmington, DE/Delcastle) was named to the Colonial States Athletic Conference women’s basketball Honor Roll for her outstanding play in the week ending January 24th. 

Oakes hit her 1000th career point on Thursday evening in front of a packed house at Lees Gymnasium where Marywood handed Cedar Crest a 76-53 loss. Oakes, who scored a team-high 13 points and grabbed nine boards, hit her 1,000th point with 7:01 remaining in the second half of play on a short jumper.

Oakes also tallied a season-high 22 points, 13 rebounds, and seven assists in a 72-61 win over Rosemont College on Monday evening.  She shot 8-of-13 from the field and 2-of-3 from three point range in 28 minutes of action. 

Cedar Crest, which is currently 9-6 overall (3-3 CSAC), will travel to Philadelphia Biblical on Monday evening at 6:00 p.m. in CSAC play.
