CABRINI HANDS CEDAR CREST LOSS IN CSAC ACTION
Allentown, PA (January 28, 2010) –Alyssa Brady dropped in 20 points to lead Cabrini College as it handed Cedar Crest College a 77-53 loss in a Colonial States Athletic Conference matchup on Thursday evening.
Cedar Crest and Cabrini saw four lead changes and the score tied three times in the first half of play before going into halftime with Cabrini up, 36-29, despite Cedar Crest holding a 24-11 advantage in rebounds.
The Cavaliers came out hot in the second half of play, going on a 10-4 run to open the period. Cedar Crest continued to battle, but could not overcome Cabrini’s shooting. The Cavaliers shot a sizzling 66.7 percent on 6-of-9 shooting from three-point range in the second half.
Senior Kelly Oakes (Wilmington, DE/Delcastle) led Cedar Crest with 14 points, 14 rebounds, and four assists, while sophomore Lizzy Sunderhaus (Hamilton, OH/Stephen T. Badin) added 14 points and eight boards on the night.
Kasey Agostinacchio came off the bench for Cabrini to add 15 points, shooting 5-of-5 from the field and 3-of-3 from three-point land. Laura Caron also added 13 points for the Cavaliers.
Cedar Crest falls to 10-7 overall (4-4 CSAC) on the season, while Cabrini improves to 10-7 overall (6-2 CSAC). The Falcons will return to action on Saturday afternoon for a CSAC matchup at Neumann University. Game time is slated for 1:00 p.m.
