OAKES GETS HER 1,000TH CAREER REBOUND IN WIN OVER BAPTIST BIBLE COLLEGE

– Senior Kelly Oakes (Wilmington, DE/Delcastle) sure did leave her mark as one of the top basketball players in Cedar Crest basketball history.  Oakes netted her 1,000th career rebound in a 65-42 victory over Baptist Bible College on Friday evening in Colonial States Athletic Conference action in Cedar Crest’s final game of the season. 

Oakes is just the second player in Cedar Crest history to reach the 1,000 point and 1,000 rebound club.  She finished her stellar career at Cedar Crest with 1,149 points, 1,005 rebounds, and 349 assists.  She posted her 10th double-double of the season, hitting for 16 points and 17 rebounds, while also dishing out six assists. 

Senior Lakeema Jones (Williamsport, PA/Williamsport) finished out her two outstanding seasons at Cedar Crest with 12 points and five rebounds on the night.  In just two seasons at Cedar Crest, Jones posted an exceptional 686 points. 

Sophomore Lizzy Sunderhaus (Hamilton, OH/Stephen T. Badin) also added 17 rebounds in the win for the Falcons, while sophomore Allison Horn (New Tripoli, PA/Northwestern Lehigh) netted 12 points and six assists. 

Marlie Kneifel led Baptist Bible with 14 points, while Laurie Plant added 10 points for the Defenders. 
Cedar Crest came out on fire and never trailed in the contest.  The Falcons held the 41-20 lead at halftime, while shooting 50.0 percent from the field in the contest on 7-of-14 from beyond the arc. 

Cedar Crest finished out the season 13-12 overall (7-8 CSAC), while Baptist Bible finishes out the season  at 4-18 overall (1-13 CSAC).
