CEDAR CREST FIELD HOCKEY DROPS DOUBLE OVERTIME HEARTBREAKER TO ALBRIGHT COLLEGE

Reading, PA (September 1, 2009) – The Cedar Crest College field hockey team fell, 1-0, in a double-overtime thriller to non-league foe Albright College on Tuesday evening at Shirk Stadium.

The contest was back-and-forth for the entire 70 minutes of regulation and for the 28:38 of the two overtime periods.
 
Albright’s Gia Boscola scored on a shot from the top of the circle with 1:42 left in the second overtime period to end the contest. 

Senior goalie Rachel Orlen (Robbinsville, NJ/Highstown HS) played an outstanding game in the cage, stopping 11 shots in almost 100 minutes of action.  Albright’s Kaitlyn Johnston made two stops for the Lions.

Albright held a 12-7 advantage in penalty corners, while holding an 18-5 shot advantage. 

Cedar Crest falls to 0-1 overall on the season, while Albright improves to 1-0 overall. 

The Falcons will travel to Goucher College on Saturday, September 5th for a 12:00 p.m. non-league contest.
