CEDAR CREST FIELD HOCKEY FALLS IN OVERTIME TO RICHARD STOCKTON
Allentown, PA (October 6, 2009) – The Cedar Crest College field hockey team dropped its third overtime game of the season in a 2-1 loss to Richard Stockton College in non-league action on Tuesday afternoon.
Nancy White put Stockton on the board at the 6:42 mark early in the first half to give the Ospreys a 1-0 lead.
Cedar Crest freshman Lauren Salge (Robbinsville, NJ/Allentown) sent a pass to sophomore Tamera Gruzdis (Allentown, PA/Liberty) to tie the contest, 1-1, with just over one minute remaining in the first half of play.
White then scored the game-winner one minute into the overtime period to give Stockton the victory.
Cedar Crest’s senior goalie Rachel Orlen (Robbinsville, NJ/Highstown) made two saves, while Debi O’Kane notched six saves for Richard Stockton.
Cedar Crest held a 9-8 shot advantage and an 11-5 advantage in penalty corners. This game marks Cedar Crest’s fifth 1-0 loss of the season.
Cedar Crest falls to 2-9 overall, while Richard Stockton College improves to 3-8.
