CEDAR CREST FIELD HOCKEY POSTS CSAC VICTORY WITH WIN OVER NOTRE DAME
Baltimore, MD (October 10, 2009)- Junior Jessica Macko scored the game-winning goal to lead Cedar Crest College in a 2-1 win over the College of Notre Dame in Colonial States Athletic Conference Action on Saturday afternoon.
Sophomore Tamera Gruzdis (Allentown, PA/ Liberty) put Cedar Crest ahead, 1-0, off a pass from freshman Ashley Jennings (Lehighton, PA/ Lehighton) at the 4:08 mark in the first half.
Notre Dame’s Rachel Jones responded to even the score, 1-1.
Macko scored what would eventually be the game-winner at the 13-minute mark.
Senior goalkeeper Rachel Orlen and freshman Lindsey Harrison had a combined five saves in goal for the Falcons.
Cedar Crest, which improves to 3-9 overall (1-3 CSAC), will travel to Hood College on Sunday for 1pm non-league contest.
