CEDAR CREST FIELD HOCKEY TEAM EARNS SGI/NFHCA NATIONAL ACADEMIC TEAM AWARD FOR THIRD-STRAIGHT YEAR

Allentown, PA (March 23, 2010) – The Cedar Crest College field hockey team earned the Gladiator by SGI and National Field Hockey Coaches Association National Academic Team Award for its performance in the classroom for the 2009 season. 

The National Academic Team Award recognizes those institutions that achieve a minimum GPA of 3.0 during the first semester of the 2009-10 academic year.  This marks the third-straight year that Cedar Crest has received this award.

Gwynedd-Mercy College and Immaculata University were the only other Colonial States Athletic Conference schools to receive this honor.

The Cedar Crest College field hockey team finished with a 5-12 overall record and four All-conference selections, the most in school history.
