CEDAR CREST FIELD HOCKEY HAD 13 NAMED TO NFHCA NATIONAL ACADEMIC SQUAD

Allentown, PA (April 5, 2010) – The Cedar Crest College field hockey team had 13 student-athletes named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III Academic Squad.

The National Academic Squad recognizes those student-athletes which have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2009-10 academic year.  Cedar Crest was represented by: Caitlyn Beiswenger, Leia Epstein, Brittany Fikes, Tara Fikes, Tammy Gruzdis, Brianna Guggenberger, Lindsay Harrison, Ashley Jennings, Rebecca Lowe, Jessica Macko, Adrienne Maurer, Falynn Strohl, and Eryn Ziegler.

Cedar Crest also received the National Academic Team Award.  The National Academic Team Award recognizes those institutions that have achieved a minimum GPA of 3.0 during the first semester of the 2009-10 academic year as a team. 

The Cedar Crest College field hockey team finished with a 5-12 overall record and four All-conference selections, the most in school history.
