ARCADIA UNIVERSITY HANDS CEDAR CREST LOSS IN NON-LEAGUE ACTION

Allentown, PA (September 9, 2009) – The Cedar Crest College field hockey team dropped a 2-0 loss to non-league opponent Arcadia University on Wednesday afternoon.   

Arcadia’s Staci Faye took a pass from Ashley Griffith 6:32 into the contest to take an early 1-0 lead.  Griffith then tallied a goal at the 26-minute mark to make it a 2-0 contest.

Senior goalie Rachel Orlen (Robbinsville, NJ/Highstown HS) stopped three stops on the day, while Arcadia’s Brittany Rasmussen made three stops.

Cedar Crest held an 8-5 advantage in penalty corners, while Arcadia held an 8-7 shot advantage. 

Cedar Crest falls to 0-3 overall on the season, while the Knights improve to 2-1 overall.

The Falcons will travel to Wells College on Saturday, September 12th for a 2:00 p.m. non-league contest.
